Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The UC Irvine Anteaters defeated the UC Davis men's tennis team 4-1 in the Big West Championships semifinal Saturday morning. The loss marks the conclusion of one of the most successful seasons in program history in which the Aggies went 5-1 in conference play and earned a share of the Big West regular season title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Irvine took courts one and three to win the doubles point and get off to a 1-0 lead early in the match. Brett Brinkman and Andras Necz were even 6-6 on court two when doubles play was called.

Enrique Luque Rico defeated Constantinos Djakouris, 6-1, 6-4 on court two to begin singles play and give the Anteaters a 2-0 advantage.

Lucas Bollinger earned the first and final point for the Aggies on court six with a 7-5, 6-4 straight set win.

The Anteaters finished the match with a three set win on court one, and a 6-1, 7-5 win on court 5. 

UC Irvine advances to play UC Santa Barbara in the Big West championship match on Sunday.
