DAVIS, Calif. — The Golden State Invitational has been canceled and an Aggie matchup against the University of Hawai'i has been rescheduled due to a rainy weekend forecast. Heavy rain is expected to douse the Davis-Sacramento region, beginning this Thursday and continuing into next week.
MEN'S TENNIS
The Golden State Invitational, scheduled for Friday and Saturday Mar. 10-11, has been canceled due to expected rain.
Eight teams were to play three games over the course of the two-day tournament with matches at both the UC Davis and Sacramento State campuses.
Weather permitting, UC Davis men's tennis will have their next match Monday, Mar. 13 against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. That match is followed by a two week break in competition.
ABOUT THE RAINBOW WARRIORS
The Hawai'i Men's tennis team (5-3-1) will be looking to get off to a strong start in conference play. Monday's matchup is their first Big West game of the season. Hawai'i is riding a five-game winning streak, though they may have to shake off some rust, having not played since a 7-0 victory over Azusa Pacific on Feb. 10.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
The UC Davis women's tennis match versus Hawai'i has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center in Gold River, Calif. Originally planned for Friday, March 10, a rainy Friday forecast necessitates the change.
ABOUT THE RAINBOW WAHINE
The Hawai'i women's tennis team (3-5, 1-0 Big West) enters the contest looking to regain some momentum after nearly a month off from competition. Hawai'i fell to the University of San Diego in their last match on Feb. 18.
