The short story: UC Davis men's tennis opened play at the Nevada Reno Invitational with a mix of results on day one, setting the stage for the rest of the weekend's competition.

COURTSIDE 

• UC Davis collected six doubles wins on the day.
• Four Aggies recorded singles victories. 
• Ivan Savkin and Kurt Miller won two straight sets to win their matches. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the morning doubles, Dylan Paterson/Lucas Bollinger defeated Moore/Fritzinger 8-5, while Rithvik Katpelly and Perry DiGiulio topped Hermassi/Kato 8-4. 
• In afternoon doubles, Bollinger/Paterson defeated their Air Force opponents for the second time that day, and so did Katpelly/DiGiulio. 
• Kaveh Taheri and Nadaul Cheam took down their Nevada opponents 8-4.
• Kurt Miller/Anand Vidyuth were the last doubles win of the day, beating their opponent 8-0. 
• In morning singles, sophomore Taheri took down his Air Force opponent 2 sets to one. 
• Cheam defeated his Nevada opponent in two straight sets. 
• Aggies Kurt Miller and Ivan Savkin would both win in two straight sets as well. Savkin against Nevada and Miller against Air Force.
