COLORADO SPRINGS – The UC Davis gymnastics team finished second in a tri-meet hosted by Air Force on Friday evening. The Aggies outdistanced the Falcons with their 195.300 score, but fell to No. 10-ranked Denver, who posted a 197.650.
VAULT
UC Davis recorded a 48.850 on the vault and was led by a runner-up finished by
Emma Otsu with a 9.850.
Emily Pires placed sixth with a 9.80 and
Megan Ray closely followed in seventh with a 9.775.
BARS
The uneven bars proved to be the second-best event of the night for the Aggies as they posted a 48.950.
Thea Michovsky was the top Ag on bars, placing sixth with a 9.875. Otsu and
Amelia Moneymaker tied for ninth with a 9.80.
BEAM
UC Davis finished with a 48.45 on beam. Otsu and
Ava Scafani cracked the top-10 with eighth place finishes and a score of 9.850.
FLOOR
All season long the floor has been one of the best events for the Aggies and Friday was no different as they posted a 49.050. Ray tied for fifth with a 9.850, while
Keanna Abraham was eighth with a 9.825.
UC Davis will continue on the road with a dual at San Jose State on Friday, Feb. 24.
