Biography
2023: ALL-MPSF FIRST TEAM on bars … MPSF ALL-ACADEMIC … Competed in all 11 meets … Recorded a 9.80 or better on eight different occasions … Tied for the event win on bars with a season-best 9.90 against San Jose State (2/24).
2022: ALL-MPSF SECOND TEAM on bars … MPSF ALL-ACADEMIC … Made the lineup in 10 meets, all on bars … Posted scores of 9.80 or above four times … Recorded a career-best score 9.85 against rival Sacramento State (3/12) where she tied for the event victory.
2021: UC Davis opted out of the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic... The NCAA Division I Council adopted legislation to extend the eligibility of student-athletes that compete in winter sports; gymnastics student-athletes will received an additional season of eligibility and an extra year to complete it.
2020: Saw action in eight meets, mostly on bars and floor... Hit season-high 9.800 on bars in Jan. 24 home quad meet, then followed with 9.700 at San Jose State (Jan. 31)... Scored 9.725 in floor exhibition at Boise State, earning lineup spot a week later at Utah State (Feb. 28)... Hit 9.725 in that meet, then again in exhibition at Sac State in season finale (Mar. 7).
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Four-year honor roll student at Napa HS, from which she graduated in 2019... Member of Gymnastics Zone for eight years then switched to Dream Xtreme during her senior year... Competed Level 10 starting in 2016... Four-time Region 1 championships qualifier, advancing to Junior Olympics Nationals in 2018... Best regional finishes include a 6th on bars in 2018 and a 12th in the all-around in 2019.
PERSONAL: Born in Napa, Calif... Majoring in neurobiology, physiology & behavior... Parents are Bogi Michovsky & Mimi Michovska... Older sister, Yonni, was a two-time All-MPSF honoree and NCAA regional qualifier for the Aggies... Speaks Bulgarian fluently, as both parents are alums of that country's National Sports Academy... Career plans are to conduct research at a lab company.
