DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis football team (6-4, 4-3) will take on Causeway rival Sacramento State (7-3, 4-3) on Saturday, Nov. 18. The annual contest will kickoff at Noon from UC Davis Health Stadium and air on KQCA CW58.
LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies earned their second straight win after knocking off Idaho State on the road, 21-14.
Lan Larison ran for 264 yards and scored all three touchdowns in the winning effort.
Zach Kennedy was key on defense, totaling eight tackles, four for a loss, including three sacks and a forced fumble.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will mark the 70
th meeting between the two rivals as the Aggies boast a 46-23 all-time advantage. The two programs have played annually since 1954 with the exception of the pandemic canceled 2020 season. Last year the Aggies were edged, 27-21 at Sacramento. The series is tied in games played at UC Davis Health Stadium, 3-3. The Ags are 24-11 all-time as the home team.

UC Davis is receiving votes in both polls as the Hornets enter Saturday ranked No. 8 in the Stats Perform Top 25 and No. 10 in the FCS Coaches Poll.
A LOOK AT THE HORNETS
The Hornets are coming off a 41-30 win over Cal Poly last Saturday. The victory improved the team to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in Big Sky games. Sacramento State has now won seven or more games in four consecutive years for the first time since 1966-69. The team's 37 wins the last four seasons are the most in any four-year stretch in school history.
Sacramento State is led at quarterback by Kaiden Bennett. He has thrown for 1,719 yards and 12 touchdowns while completing 63.3 percent of his passes. The Hornets have five rushers over 200 yards as Marcus Fulcher has totaled 463 yards and five touchdowns. Jared Gipson has 521 yards receiving and Armon Bailey leads the defense with 73 total tackles.

LARISON AIMING FOR 1,000 YARDS
The reigning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week enters the final regular season contest only needing 20 rushing yards to eclipse 1,000 on the season. Larison is averaging 140 yards per game which ranks second in the FCS and his 980 yards paces the conference. The Idaho native sports 10 rushing touchdowns and is averaging 6.5 yards per carry.
Larison posted the third most rushing yards in a single game in program history when he totaled 264 at Idaho State. He has now scored three touchdowns in two straight contests and has posted that number in three games this season.
KENNEDY SHINES WITH THREE SACKS
Zach Kennedy was disruptive last weekend at Idaho State as he registered eight tackles, four for loss and had three sacks. He also forced a fumble against the Bengals. Kennedy now has 8.5 sacks on his Aggie career and two forced fumbles.
THE MAGICAL TRENT TOMPKINS
Trent Tompkins posted his best offensive performance in an Aggie uniform on the road at NAU. The Fresno native put together 231 all-purpose yards on the strength of a career-high 148 receiving yards, that included a 75-yard score. On the season, Tompkins has rushed for over 100 yards in a game, totaled over 100 yards receiving in a game and has returned punts and kicks. Overall, he is second on the team with 856 all-purpose yards and paces the squad with 382 yards receiving on 44 catches.
EATON CLIMBING THE TFL RANKS
After his three tackles for loss performance at Cal Poly, Eaton continues to climb the career TFL list. Entering the contest against Sacramento State, Eaton has 31.5 for his career. When the stat was officially was recognized in 2001, Eaton ranks third all-time in the Aggie record book.
