The Aggies went on the road and picked up two important victories to climb back to .500 in Big West play. UC Davis received a great performance from
Megan Norris in the midweek matchup at UC Riverside as the forward recorded her second double-double of the year (14 PTS, 13 REB) to propel her team to a 60-48 win over the Highlanders.
Evanne Turner reached 1,000 career points in UC Davis' dominant 74-52 victory over Cal Poly to complete the perfect week. She dropped a game-high 20 points in the win, recording her fifth game with 20 or more points this season. The Aggies improved to 4-4 in conference play while ascending into the top half of the Big West standings.
SERIES HISTORY
This is the 14th all-time meeting between the Aggies and the Roadrunners. UC Davis is just 1-4 at home against CSUB, however, the Aggies prevailed 60-43 in Bakersfield in early January.
UC Davis has met Long Beach State 42 times with the Aggies leading the all-time series 22-20. The Aggies are 12-7 at home against the Beach and won the last meeting between the teams 55-45 in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Big West Tournament.
ABOUT THE ROADRUNNERS
CSU Bakersfield has lost six of its last seven contests but produced two decent showings last week. The Roadrunners picked up a 64-58 win over Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 16 before losing by just four points to second-place UC Santa Barbara.
CSUB sits at the bottom of the Big West in scoring offense, posting just 51.3 points-per-game and rank 10
th in margin at -11.3. Grace Hunter is the team's leading scorer at 9.4 points-per-game, and Kayla Morris has proven to be a force on the defensive side of the ball as she currently leads the conference with 37 blocks and 2.3 blocks-per-game.
ABOUT THE BEACH
Long Beach State boasts a four-game winning streak heading into this week. The Beach is tied for second place in the Big West standings and bring the conference's second-best defense and top turnover margin into this week's contests.
Long Beach State has played some solid defense in 2022-23 as the team has allowed just 57.4 points-per-game, which ranks second in the conference. Tori Harris is currently fifth on the Big West scoring list at 13.4 points-per-game. Ma'Qhi Berry has had major success as a facilitator, leading the conference with 4.4 assists-per-game.
TURNER MAKES HISTORY
Evanne Turner became the 22nd Aggie in UC Davis women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points following her excellent offensive display on Jan. 19. The Fontana native notched a game-high 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting with four three-pointers.
THE THREE-POINT QUEEN
By knocking down her 196th career three-pointer on Jan. 16 against UC San Diego,
Evanne Turner broke the UC Davis program record for three-point field goals. Lori Hurlburt held the previous record, making 194 from 1997-2001. Turner currently leads the Big West in three-pointers made (45) and three-pointers-per-game (2.8). She is 27th in the nation for three-pointers-per game and ranks 33rd nationally for total threes.
GROSS MOVES UP THE LADDER
With the win over William Jessup on Dec. 15,
Jennifer Gross earned her 205
th victory as head coach of the Aggies. With her win over CSU Bakersfield on Jan. 7, Gross tallied win number 206 and now stands alone in second place on the all-time wins list.

The Aggies take a trip to Hawai'i on Feb. 2 to face the Rainbow Wahine, hoping to avenge their defeat from earlier in the season.
