LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies suffered a heart-breaking loss on Monday afternoon as UC San Diego snatched a late victory by netting a layup in the final seconds to hand UC Davis its second straight defeat. UC Davis (6-10, 2-4) battled back from a six-point halftime deficit to take the lead in fourth quarter.
The Aggies had a chance to win it with 20 seconds left, but UC San Diego got the stop on the defensive end before landing the finishing blow with just one second left on the clock. It was a back-and-forth affair inside the University Credit Union Center that featured 10 lead changes.
Evanne Turner poured in a game-high 19 points while
Tess Sussman posted her third double-double of the season (12 PTS, 10 REB).
SERIES HISTORY
This is the 67th all-time meeting between the Aggies and Highlanders. UC Davis holds a 40-26 advantage in the series, but are13-15 in Riverside. Last season, UC Riverside hit a three-pointer in the final minute to earn the 61-59 win.
UC Davis has met Cal Poly 61 times with the Aggies leading the all-time series 38-23. The Aggies are 15-14 in San Luis Obispo and grabbed an 85-55 victory on the central coast last season
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
UC Riverside has struggled on the offensive end and bring the conference's second-worst scoring offense into Thursday's matchup, averaging 51.6 points-per-game. However, the Highlanders have been solid on the defensive side of the ball with the fourth-best scoring defensive in the league, holding opponents to 61.5 points-per game. UC Riverside have just one player averaging double-digits, Jordan Webster with 11.8 points-per-game.
Cal Poly has the ninth-ranked scoring offense in the Big West, posting 54.1 points-per-game. Annika Shah leads the Mustangs at 10.6 points-per-game under first-year Head Coach Shanele Stire.

By knocking down her 196th career three-pointer on Jan. 16 against UC San Diego,
Evanne Turner broke the UC Davis program record for three-point field goals. Lori Hurlburt held the previous record, making 194 from 1997-2001. Turner currently leads the Big West in three-pointers made (45) and three-pointers-per-game (2.8). She is 27th in the nation for three-pointers-per game and ranks 33rd nationally for total threes.
CHASING HISTORY
Evanne Turner is just 28 points away from the 1,000-point plateau, which would make her the 22nd in school history to reach that marker.
Cierra Hall (2017-22), finishing her career with 1,339 points, was the last Aggie to accomplish that feat.
GROSS MOVES UP THE LADDER
With the win over William Jessup on Dec. 15,
Jennifer Gross earned her 205
th victory as head coach of the Aggies. With her win over CSU Bakersfield on Jan. 7, Gross tallied win number 206 and now stands alone in second place on the all-time wins list.
