Aggies Top Spartans to Open Spring Season
Davis, Calif. – The Aggies participated in their first dual meet of the spring season as they took on San Jose State University at Schaal Aquatics Center. The Aggies defeated the Spartans 161-84. Senior Anna Lee was the top scorer of the meet for the Aggies as she won three of the twelve events the Aggies participated in. Lee won the 200 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly.
Seven Aggies (senior Caroline Eckel (100 yard backstroke), freshman Emma Hermeston (200 yard backstroke), senior Maggie Malloy (1,000 yard freestyle), Katie McLain (50 yard freestyle), junior Elle Motekaitis (500 yard freestyle), sophomore Sam Rhodes (200 yard breaststroke) and senior Sophia Sebastian (200 yard butterfly)) won one event apiece. As a team, the Aggies won the 200 yard medley relay.

Aggies Corral Broncos in Second Day of Back-to-Back Duals
Davis, Calif. – The Aggies participated in their second dual meet in as many days as they took on Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at Schaal Aquatics Center. The Aggies defeated the Mustangs 141-78.
Senior Anna Lee was again the top scorer of the meet for the Aggies as she won two individual events and was a part of the 'A' team that won the 200 yard medley relay. Lee won the 200 yard butterfly and 100 yard butterfly. Sophomore Katie McLain won two events as well – 200 yard freestyle and the 50 yard freestyle.Â
Six Aggies (sophomore Christy Douglas (100 yard freestyle), senior Caroline Eckel (100 yard backstroke), senior Dani Fasan (100 yard breaststroke), freshman Emma Hermeston (200 yard backstroke), sophomore Haley Hoefer (200 yard breaststroke) and sophomore Sam Rhodes (1,000 yard freestyle)) won one event apiece.Â
The Aggies will be back in action at Schaal Aquatics Center on Friday, Jan. 20 at 3 P.M. PT as they are set to host UC Santa Barbara, before taking on Fresno State on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 12 P.M. PT.

Aggies Compete at Bruin Diving Invitational
Los Angeles, Calif. – The Aggie divers took to the pool at the Bruin Diving Invitational hosted by UCLA. The Aggies participated in the three day event along with 15 other Division I schools. Leading the Aggies was freshman Mackenzie Young who was one spot shy of qualifying for the Women 3M Championship after recording a score of 246.95 that found her in 19th place for the event. Another strong performance came by way of Sydney Wren who totaled a 250.30 score in the Women 1M Championship Prelims. The Aggies had four different fivers in the 1-meter place among the top fifty. Rounding out the rest of the scores for UC Davis, sophomore Taylor Schwarz posted a 218.70, Kendall Menard, totaled a score of 215.25, while Melina Demick finished with a score of 202.55.
The Aggies also had efforts from Alexandra Robinson who dove her way to a 200.70 as she was the last of the Aggies to eclipse a score of over 200 in the 1-meter. The last of the Aggies who participated in the 1-meter was 3-meter standout, Mackenzie Young who scored a 174.45.
In the 3-meter, with Young leading the charge, the Ags also had two others place inside the top fifty and post score totals of higher than 200 as Menard and Schwarz were again near upper half of the competition and competitive with a 207.60 for Kendall and Taylor following right behind her with a 203.70.
For the Platform dives, Mackenzie Young posted the team-high score of 190.95, good for 32nd in the event while Wren, who led in the 1-meter placed right behind her in 33rd with a score of 184.05.
