Waipahu, O'ahu, Hi. - UC Davis out shot Hawai'i but the Aggies fell 1-0 to the Rainbow Wahine in its first Big West game of the season on Thursday night.
The game's only goal came in the 74th minute, a breakaway by Hawai'i down the near side of the field that saw the Rainbow Wahine play the ball in to the center of the box for a shot at close range.
UC Davis fell to 3-3-2 with the result.
One of UC Davis' best chances came in the final eight minutes, a header by
Emma Vane off a corner taken by
Jayde Holley that was on target from the far corner of the box but saved.
Sarah Canavan had the Aggies' other shot on goal, taking a back pass from
Sammie Ruelas at the edge of the box in the 67th minute.
UC Davis will play a final non-conference game on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Arizona before diving into the remainder of its Big West slate.
