Tucson, Ariz. - UC Davis traveled to Tucson, Ariz. on Sunday trying for a second win this season against a Pac-12 opponent in the Arizona Wildcats but fell 1-0 to close out its non-conference schedule.
The Aggies (3-4-2, 0-1) only had one fewer shot on goal than Arizona with
Sarah Canavan,
Lindsey Porter, and
Chandler Connors each forcing saves. UC Davis also created 11 corners to the Wildcats' three, including nine in the second half.
During a 7:10 stretch in the second half beginning in the 63rd minute, the Aggies took three of those corners and got shots on target from Porter and Connors.
Arizona's go-ahead goal came in the 36th minute.
The Aggies now turn their attention to the Big West with nine conference games left on the schedule for them to make their mark. UC Davis will play at home twice in the coming week against UC Irvine on Sept. 22 and CSUN on Sept. 25.
