Registration open for third annual Gunrock’s Gallop

Event to benefit ASUCD Pantry on campus

DAVIS, Calif. - Join UC Davis Athletics for the third annual Gunrock's Gallop 5k on Saturday, October 29th with an all new in-person event!

All proceeds from this year's race will benefit the ASUCD Pantry on campus, which is a free on-campus resource for all UC Davis students that addresses food insecurity by providing fresh food, basic necessities, and ensures that no student ever misses a meal due to financial reasons.

The race package includes a medal, shirt, and bib, as well as a ticket to Football vs Cal Poly for the Battle of the Golden Horseshoe. The cost is $40 for adults, $35 for a group of 10-or-more, $30 for students, and $25 for youth ages 3-13. An additional $5 fee will apply if you want your race day package shipped to you, or you can pick it up for free at the Athletics Ticket Office located at UC Davis Health Stadium during regular business hours.

More information on the race, as well as a link to register for the event, is available at: https://ucdavisaggies.com/feature/gunrocksgallop

Starting and ending at UC Davis Health Stadium, participants can expect to join campus leadership, UC Davis athletes and Aggie fans for a campus-based run or walk, finishing on the football field! Not a local Aggie? No problem. Complete Gunrock's Gallop 5k "virtually" by running, biking, walking, or roller blading 3.1 miles around your home.

Last academic year, Gunrock's Gallop, held virtually in February of 2022, brought together 410 participants from across the country, spanning 13 states and 104 cities. The totals raised over $3,800 for The Pantry and provided approximately 11,000 meals for students.

The inaugural event, held virtually in December of 2020, drew 550 runners from across the country, covered more than 1,500 miles, and raised more than $5,000 for The Pantry, which equated to more than 15,000 meals for students.
