Davis, Calif. – UC Davis added more size to its 2022-23 roster with the signing of forward/wing Sam Manu, head coach
Jim Les announced this week.
Manu, a 6-7 205-pound forward, joins the Aggies after two years at the junior college level, playing his freshman year at City College of San Francisco and his sophomore year at College of San Mateo. He played his high school ball at Aragon High School in San Mateo.
Last season, Manu averaged 16.6 points per game on 51.5 percent shooting, including 42.5 percent from three, to help College of San Mateo to a 20-win season. He also pulled down 5.7 rebounds per game, including 2.7 offensive rebounds per game, and 1.4 steals per game.
He had 10 20-point games last season and finished ranked third in the Coast Conference in total points and fourth in points per game.
Manu grew up in Taiwan moving to the United States in the summer of 2017. His father, Rex, played at Pepperdine and was an assistant coach at Aragon.
Manu is the fourth addition to the 2022-23 roster in the last month by the UC Davis coaching staff.
