Los Angeles, Calif. - UC Davis wrapped up the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-12 to USC in Los Angeles.
Kendall Seifert led the way for the Aggies, scoring three goals for her sixth hat trick of the season and giving her a score in all 13 games this season.
Alex Agnew had a goal and two assists, finishing the season with 37 assists to tie her with
Amanda Outcalt for the second most in a season in school history. Outcat accomplished the feat in 2019. Agnew now has 61 assists through the first three seasons of her career, eighth all-time.
Grace Gebhardt scored her 23rd goal of the season and
Brooke Long her career-best fifth goal.
UC Davis had the first score of the game, a goal by Seifert with
Regan Arkless on the assist to open scoring at the 13:00 mark of the first quarter before the Trojans scored four straight. Agnew scored shortly after an Aggie timeout to get within 2-4 at the end of the first and the teams alternated the next four scores in the game that saw UC Davis then trail 4-6 with 4:47 until the half.
The Trojans went on another run of four unanswered though to create breathing room up 4-10 and held the Aggies off the scoreboard in the second half until Seifert scored with 9:40 left in the fourth quarter.
The Aggies finish the season at 5-8 and will graduate five seniors in
Ally Deremer,
Natalie Wilson,
Annie Dalton, Seifert, and Long. Agnew, third-leading scorer
Ella Brislin, and fourth-leading scorer
Grace Gebhardt will each return in 2023.
