Aggies score six unanswered to topple Lehigh

Bethlehem, Penn. - UC Davis (4-4) scored six unanswered goals in the second half to turn around a one goal deficit and defeat Lehigh 13-11 in Bethlehem on Tuesday.

Trailing 5-6 with 13:36 to go in the third quarter, the Aggies scored the next five goals in the third quarter and the first of the fourth to lead 11-6 with 11:59 remaining.

All but one of UC Davis' goals during the stretch were unassisted. Grace Gebhardt scored her second and third goals of the game, Alex Agnew scored twice and assisted on a Regan Arkless power play goal, and Ella Brislin scored her second of the game during the run.

Lehigh responded with two straight goals after which Brislin completed her hat trick to push the lead to 12-8. Another Lehigh goal was answered by Agnew's third gol to again make it a four-score game at 13-9 with 5:30 to go. The Mountain Hawks scored twice more before the final horn but Brislin won the draw on the latter goal and later drew a foul and free position attempt to run off valuable time.

Tuesday's win snapped a brief two-game slide for the Aggies, who have one more game at Villanova on Saturday remaining on the road trip.

Agnew has now assisted in every game this season and has at least three assists in five of UC Davis' eight games. Seifert took over the team lead with 17 goals on the season and has scored in every game with multi-goal efforts in all but one. Brislin and Gebhardt joined Agnew in scoring three times on Tuesday.

Following Saturday's game at Villanova, the Aggies will get two games a week apart at home in Oregon on April 9 and Cal on April 16.
