HONOLULU, HI. – The UC Davis beach volleyball team competed in three duals on the final day of competition at the Outrigger Queen's Cup held on Queen's Beach. The Aggies won their quarterfinal match against Nebraska, 3-2, but fell in the semis to No. 3 TCU, 4-1, and No. 9 Hawai'i in the third place dual, 3-2.

Ashlee Goycoochea and Rose Holscher secured the win over Nebraska, fighting in three sets at No. 3. The pair downed Bekka Allick and Lexi Rodriguez, 24-22, 20-22, 15-10. Goycoochea and Holscher also won the lone point for the Aggies against TCU.

Tabitha Mitchell and Kylie Miller earned the first victory of the day for UC Davis at the No. 4 spot while Madelin Smith and Sam Lazenby followed with a win at No. 5. Every match went three sets except the 21-18, 21-10 victory from Mitchell and Miller.

The Aggies went toe-to-toe with host Hawai'i as Morgan Coolbaugh and Megan Luly and Smith and Mia Olen nabbed wins. Senior Nicole Andrade garnered the Aloha Spirit Award, handed out by tournament officials.

UC Davis will return to the sand on Monday, March 21 to face Stanford at the UC Davis Beach Volleyball Courts.
