Henrickson homers for second day but Aggies fall to San Francisco

Davis, Calif. - Jonah Henrickson homered for the second straight day and the Aggies combined to strike out 14 batters but UC Davis fell 6-2 to San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon.

Henrickson didn't waste time getting the Aggies (0-4) on the board in the first inning, getting an 0-1 pitch and taking it the opposite way to even the score at one apiece.

Though San Francisco struck for four runs in the top of the fourth, the Aggies started a sequence in which they struck out seven straight batters.

The Aggies put up a season-high seven hits while homering for the third time in four games this season. UC Davis also more than doubled its season-high for strike outs in a game, with five combining for 16. Bryan Green started and struck out a career-high six in 3 2/3 innings while Andrew LaCour recorded all four outs by strike out in 1 1/3 innings while allowing a hit and a walk. Nate Freeman pitched two innings and struck out 4 with just one hit allowed, Nate Lemos struck out on and walked one in the eighth and Nico Ryder struck out on in the ninth. In all, the Aggie bullpen combined to pitch 5 1/3 scoreless innings.

UC Davis will got a week between games as its slated to wrap up the season series with Saint Mary's on Mar. 1 in Moraga.
