NEWS & NOTABLES: The Aggies continue a run that will see them play four games in eight days during a short week this week as UC Davis hosts UC Riverside on Tuesday followed by a Wednesday flight to Honolulu to take on Hawai'i on Thursday night. This week marks the first meetings between the programs after the initial meetings that were supposed to tip-off the Big West schedule back in late December/early January were canceled due to COVID health and safety protocols. The Aggies are fresh off a split of road games last week after falling at Cal State Fullerton and handing league-leading Long Beach State only its third loss of the season. Senior Cierra Hall averaged a double-double for the week with 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg, while sophomore Evanne Turner averaged 19.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg while shooting 53 percent from three-point range. Senior Sage Stobbart was also in double figures at 11.5 ppg, while averaging 9.0 rpg.

UC Davis Indoor Sports Gameday Policies

NEWS & NOTABLES: Looking to shake off the effects of losing a pair at home last week, UC Davis heads to Southern California to take on travel partner UC Riverside before battling first-place Hawai'i on Saturday evening. It's been a but of a run of the gauntlet for the Aggies, who dropped both ends of their homestand against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State last week -- which both sit in a tie for second in the league standings entering this week's games, just a game back of the Rainbow Warriors. Sophomore Elijah Pepper finished with 15 points to lead four Aggies in double figures against the Titans, adding a 16-point, 10-rebound, double-double against the Beach, while teammate Ezra Manjon poured in 26 against Long Beach State. Like their counterparts on the women's side, this week marks the first meetings of the year between UC Davis, UC Riverside, and Hawai'i, after its league openers earlier this season were canceled due to COVID health and safety protocols.

MEN'S GOLF
Feb. 3-5: UC DAVIS AT AMER ARI INVITATIONAL (HAPUNA GOLF COURSE - WAIMEA, HAWAI'I)

Live Scoring

NEWS & NOTABLES: Having not competed since the end of their fall schedule in mid-October, the Aggies couldn't pick a better venue to open the spring than Hawai'i as UC Davis heads to the islands to compete at the 31st annual Amer Ari Invitational at the Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea. The three-day event begins Thursday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. HT (9:30 a.m. PT) and runs through Saturday. The Aggies wrapped up the fall with a trio of top-10 team finishes in four events, including a win at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in record-setting fashion. Senior Thomas Hutchison -- who also took home individual honors at the Falcon Invite -- led UC Davis with 10 of his 12 rounds at par or better, including a team-best five rounds in the 60s, posting a scoring average of 69.50 over the four tournaments. Sophomores Lucas Carper (72.33) and Jacob Westberg (72.50) also wrapped up solid fall seasons.

Sara Tsukamoto, Yana Gurevich and Arianna Stavropoulos won both their singles matches at the No. 1-3 spots, respectively.

The Aggies wrapped up last week's Cal Cup hosted by the Golden Bears with a 3-1 record, posting wins over No. 12 San Jose State, No. 13 Long Beach State, and No. 15 Pacific, while falling to No. 8 Fresno State. Junior Noelle Wijnbelt finished with 10 goals (tied for the second-most in the tournament), while goalkeeper Sophia Noble led the tournament with 45 total saves along with 11.3 saves per game and finished second in both save percentage (.584) and goals against average (8.13) on the weekend.

The 2021 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champions return 20 letter winners and five starters off of last season's squad that finished with a 12-4 overall record and defeated Fresno State in the conference title match. Junior midfielder Alex Agnew is the team's leading returning scorer after posting 34 goals and 24 assists (58 points) on 62 shots a season ago, earning All-MPSF and All-MPSF Tournament Team laurels. Junior goalkeeper Ashley Laing is the incumbent in net with the graduation of starter Taylor Mathieson, posting a 10.12 goals against average and 67 saves (.523 save percentage) in 362 minutes last year.
