DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis women's basketball team announced Wednesday that Clara Glad from Rogers HS in Minnesota has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career with the Aggies beginning with the 2023-24 season.
"Clara is a long, versatile guard with a great motor," five-time Big West Coach of the Year
Jennifer Gross said. "She is a threat from behind the three-point line who also uses her athleticism to get to the rim to score.
"One of my favorite things about Clara is how aggressive and competitive she is on defense. She pressures the ball well, uses her length to get tips and steals, and rebounds with tenacity. Clara is also a driven student and a selfless teammate – two things that make her the perfect fit here at UC Davis."
Glad, a 6-foot shooting guard from Rogers, Minnesota is entering her senior season with the Royals, fresh off a 2021-22 campaign that saw her average 14 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior, which gave her First Team All Northwest Suburban Conference honors for a second consecutive year. Glad is also four-time varsity letter awardee and has been recognized by her team as Miss Hustle for the last two years.
As a freshman with the Royals, Glad earned Honorable Mention Northwest Suburban Conference recognition as well as Most Improved distinction by her team.
Outside of her high school exploits, Glad has competed with the North Tartan EYBL team for the last five years.
Glad is expected to pursue a degree in neurobiology, physiology, and behavior at UC Davis.
