DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis Athletics held the third annual Gunrock's Gallop 5k on Saturday, October 29th with an all new in-person event that raised $4,311 for charity.  Of the 466 participants, 219 were students, included 31 pets, and represented 95 cities in 10 states.  
 
All proceeds from this year's race will benefit the ASUCD Pantry on campus, which is a free on-campus resource for all UC Davis students that addresses food insecurity by providing fresh food, basic necessities, and ensures that no student ever misses a meal due to financial reasons.

Last academic year, Gunrock's Gallop, held virtually in February of 2022, brought together 410 participants from across the country, spanning 13 states and 104 cities. The totals raised over $3,800 for The Pantry and provided approximately 11,000 meals for students.
 
The inaugural event, held virtually in December of 2020, drew 550 runners from across the country, covered more than 1,500 miles, and raised more than $5,000 for The Pantry, which equated to more than 15,000 meals for students.
