Aggies Continue to Light Up Scoreboard; Down Cal Poly, 59-17

DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis football team (4-4, 3-2) won its third straight game en route to retaining the Golden Horseshoe for the sixth-straight meeting with a 59-17 win over Cal Poly (1-7, 0-5), Saturday evening at UC Davis Health Stadium.

The win marked the third-straight contest the Aggies eclipsed 50 points – the most in consecutive games since 2000. UC Davis has now amassed over 680 total yards in each of their last two home games.

Aggie quarterback Miles Hastings continued his stellar play, completing 22-of-26 for a career-high 425 yards and four touchdowns. Over the three-game winning streak the signal-caller has completed 82 percent of his passes for 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns to zero interceptions.

Ulonzo Gilliam, Jr. led all UCD rushers with 136 yards and two touchdowns, picking up eight yards per carry. The running back also added 66 receiving yards on a team-high eight catches. Jeremiah Chukwudobe also added 42 yards on the ground, averaging 21 yards per carry.

C.J. Hutton hauled in five catches for 104 yards for his first career 100-yard game. Casey Granfors made his presence felt in the passing game, recording two receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns, including a 52-yard strike. Matteo Perez also tallied an explosive play, finding paydirt on a 67-yard touchdown reception.

Teddye Buchanan showed out for the UC Davis defense, recording five tackles, including one for loss, and two interceptions. His second interception, the team captain returned it 65 yards for the score.

Jehiel
Budgett added three tackles, one interception, and two pass breakups and Jackson Cloyd had five tackles, 2.0 TFL, and one sack in the win.

UC Davis will conclude its regular season home slate against Idaho State on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from UC Davis Health Stadium.
