Davis, CA — With two competitions under their belt, the UC Davis Equestrian team has jumped up the National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings and clock in at No. 8 this week. The ranking ties the highest ever program ranking for Equestrian which was just set, shy of a year ago when the Aggies were slotted at No. 8 during the Nov. 13, 2021 polls.
HOW DID WE GET HERE
The Aggies dropped the first meet of the year against, No. 3 ranked Texas A&M by an overall score of 5-14. Even with the loss, Margaret Franke and Malena Palmer were able to pick up MOP honors.
The Aggies now are coming fresh off an upset victory over the previously ranked No. 5 Auburn Tigers in which the Aggies took the event by a score of 10-8. The Tigers have since dropped to No. 6 in the polls.
UC Davis will now enter next meet holding a 1-1 record with an opportunity to climb even more up the rankings, as the Ags play host to South Dakota State, and No. 5 Georgia in an event that runs from Friday, Oct. 28 to Saturday, Oct. 29.
