DAVIS, Calif. — The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) has officially recognized the UC Davis herd as the Horse of the Month, celebrating the collective excellence and heart of the program's equine athletes.
While the award typically highlights a single standout performer, this month's accolade honors the entire UC Davis string for their consistent talent, generosity, and the vital role they play in the program's success. As the foundation of the UC Davis equestrian team, these horses represent the core values of the school through their dedication to the riders both in and out of the arena.
"Every one of our incredible equine athletes deserves to be celebrated for the role they play in our team's success," the coaching staff shared. "Day after day, they show up for us with patience, generosity, and heart, sharing their talent and giving so much more than just their athletic ability. They are our teachers, our partners, and our support system."
The program's achievement is made possible through the generosity of the horse owners and donors who have shared these exceptional animals with UC Davis over the years. Because of their support, Aggie riders are given the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the elite partnership that makes the sport so special.
The lessons and memories these horses have provided leave a lasting mark on the program and the entire Aggie community. For their unwavering commitment and the impact they have on every rider, UC Davis is proud to celebrate the entire herd as the NCEA Horse of the Month.
