UC DAVIS: Five-time reigning Big West Conference Coach of the Year Jennifer Gross is in her 11th year (18th overall at UC Davis) with a record of 195-120 (.619) overall and 110-52 (.679) in the Big West.
UC RIVERSIDE: Nicole Powell is in her fifth year overall as a head coach and her second at the helm of the Highlanders' program. Powell is 50-65 (.435) overall including a three-year stint at Grand Canyon and 12-19 (.387) in two years with UC Riverside.
HAWAI'I: Laura Beeman is in her 25th year as a head coach and her 10th at the helm of the Hawai'I program. Beeman is 540-241 (.691) overall while posting a 150-131 (.534) mark with the Rainbow Wahine.
 
IN THE RANKINGS: Back in the win column and moving back up the list according to the latest College Insider Mid-Major poll released on Jan. 25, jumping three spots to No. 16 in last week's rankings (updated polls will be released on Tuesday). The Aggies opened at No. 9 in the College Insider preseason rankings -- and reached as high as No. 10 in the regular season -- marking the highest for the program in that poll since the Aggies stood at No. 8 in the Feb. 27, 2018, poll. UC Davis has been ranked every week dating back to the final poll of 2019-20.
 
ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS: UC Riverside enters the week with a 5-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in Big West Conference play after dropping games against Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton last week to snap a brief two-game winning streak... The Highlanders are just 1-7 on the road this season, losing seven straight after a 75-67 win at Pacific back on Nov. 13... Senior guard Keilanei Cooper leads UCR in scoring at 14.7 ppg while shooting .410 from the field... Sophomore guard Jordan Webster is also in double figures, averaging 10.3 ppg, while senior forward Daphne Gnago leads the team on the glass at 6.6 rpg.
 
SERIES NOTES: Tuesday marks the first meeting between the two programs this season after the Big West Conference opener featuring the two teams in Riverside on Dec. 28 was canceled due to COVID health and safety protocols... It will be the first meeting since the 2019-20 season, in fact, after the two regular season scheduled for the 2020-21 season were also canceled due to a Yolo County Health Order... UC Davis leads the all-time series with UC Riverside, 40-25, having won eight of the last 10 meetings since the 2015-16 season... The Aggies are 18-8 at home against the Highlanders (with the locations of two games unknown), having won the last four on the floor of the University Credit Union Center dating back to 2017.
 
ABOUT THE RAINBOW WAHINE: Hawai'i enters the week with an 8-8 overall record and a 4-2 mark in Big West Conference play, having won four of its last five following a loss at UC Santa Barbara and a win at CSUN last week... The Rainbow Wahine are 6-3 at home this season, having won four straight dating back to the end of the non-conference season... Senior Amy Atwell is the lone Hawai'i player in double figures, averaging a robust 18.5 ppg and shooting .436 from the field to go with 6.1 rpg... The Rainbow Wahine are averaging 63.3 ppg and shooting .409 as a team, allowing opponents 69.9 ppg and a .420 shooting percentage.
 
SERIES NOTES: Thursday marks the first meeting of the year between the two schools after the first game scheduled for New Year's Day in Davis was canceled due to COVID health and safety protocols... UC Davis leads the all-time series with Hawai'i by a 14-10 count, having won the last two straight and six of the last seven... The Aggies have won four of their last six in Honolulu and are 6-6 on the road all time at Hawai'i... The last meeting came in the semifinals of the Big West Conference Tournament in 2021, with UC Davis posting a 64-52 win en route to the tournament crown.
