DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis equestrian program will hold open tryouts for all students interesting in competing during the 2021-22 season. The program is looking for hardworking, dedicated, and talented individuals interested in competing in hunter seat equitation over fences, hunter seat equitation on the flat, western horsemanship, and reining.
All team members will be required to practice at minimum two times per week, attend team workouts, attend team meetings and events, participate in all ICA events, and more.
To participate in the tryouts, student-athletes must meet the following requirements and take the following steps:
1. Pre-register with head coach

jweisinger@ucdavis.edu. Each prospective student-athlete must send the following:
• First and last name
• UC Davis email address
• Events you are interested in
• Fill out the Equestrian Recruiting Questionnaire available at the following link:

2. Be enrolled in at least 12 units at UC Davis during the Fall 2021 quarter;
3. Complete all necessary NCAA compliance forms;
4. Complete a physical examination, using the required medical form, and bring with you to the informational meeting to be turned in to head coach,
Jessie Weisinger;
5. Attend the tryout informational meeting during the second week of school on Monday, Sept. 27, at 5:30 PM at the UC Davis Equestrian Center.
At this meeting, we will go over the ins and outs of NCEA Equestrian, UC Davis equestrian team expectations, all necessary paperwork required for tryouts, and the process of tryouts and how they will run. Coach Weisinger will provide more information once she receives your email as listed in step 1 above.
