Equestrian: Aggies Claim ECAC Rider of the Week Titles

DAVIS, Calif. — Following a dominant 14-5 victory over UT Martin to secure a perfect, undefeated record in ECAC conference play, UC Davis sophomores Carmen Gonzalez and Avery Adamson have been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Riders of the Week for their standout performances on Saturday, March 7.

Gonzalez was nearly perfect on the Flat, delivering a career-defining ride aboard Smilla. Her season-high score of 95 stood as the highest mark recorded by any rider in the meet across all disciplines, easily securing her Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors. Gonzalez's performance anchored a 4-1 event victory for the Aggies to put a stamp on their perfect conference run.

In the Reining arena, Adamson provided the ultimate exclamation point to the afternoon. Riding Mr. T to an event-high 74.5, she outscored her opponent by five points to claim MOP honors and lead the Aggies to a flawless 5-0 discipline sweep. Adamson's ride was the final piece of the 14-5 team victory, ensuring UC Davis enters the postseason with momentum and an unblemished conference record.

UP NEXT: The Aggies shift their focus to the postseason as they travel to Dover, Del., for the ECAC Championships beginning on March 26.
