IRVINE, Calif. – By winning the doubles round and the first three singles matches that finished during Sunday morning's Big West Conference dual at Anteater Tennis Stadium, women's tennis swept its weekend matches and collected its fourth victory in a row by shutting out UC Irvine, 4-0.
 
With a win in its regular season finale, and third straight against UCI, UC Davis will return to Orange County later this week for the Big West Women's Tennis Championship with an 8-7 overall and 5-3 Big West record.
 
The Anteaters will enter the league's postseason tournament at 2-10 and 2-6.
 
UC Davis started strong with Sara Tsukamoto and Lauren Ko defeating Jessica Tsukji and Alyssia Fossorier, 6-2, followed by Shirley Hall and Michelle Zell's 6-4 result against Jenna Schlatter and Arianna Tilbury.
 
Kristina Evloeva and Yana Gurevich were leading 6-5 when the Aggies captured the doubles point and transitioned to the singles round.

Once action resumed, it was more of the same for UC Davis since it earned the next three team points in straight-set fashion.
 
Evloeva set the tone of the round by topping Mia Totah, 6-3 and 6-0 to double her team's lead. Shortly thereafter, Gurevich walked off her court with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Alyssia Fossorier. Once Hall completed her individual sweep by defeating Arianna Tilbury, 6-1, 6-2, the Aggies could officially celebrate their strong end to the regular season with another positive result.
