DAVIS, Calif. – Even though she dropped the first set of her singles match against Lara Marco Mas in Friday's home dual against San José State, freshman
Olive Maunupau bounced back by winning the next two set by matching 6-3, 6-3 scores to record her team-high fifth victory of the season.
Â
That victory was her team's only point of the afternoon as San Jose State improved its record to 5-0 by defeating the Aggies, 6-1.
Â
Women's tennis will not wait long for an opportunity to avenge this result, which dropped the team's record to 2-4, since it will head to Saint Mary's tomorrow for a 12 p.m. non-conference dual.
Shirley Hall and
Michelle Zell opened the afternoon on a positive note for the Aggies by shutting out Savannah Senday and Rozalina Youseva, but the visiting Spartans ended up with the doubles point by winning the round's final two matches.
