MORAGA, Calif. – Trailing 3-0 after Saint Mary's won the doubles round and the first two singles matches that finished in Saturday's non-conference match at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex, UC Davis stormed back to tie the score at 3-3 after
Carly Schwartzberg,
Kristina Evloeva and
Olive Maunupau won the next three singles contests.
Down to the final singles match, Saint Mary's ended up winning the decisive team point by winning a third-set tiebreaker to edge the Aggies, 4-3.
With its result, UC Davis will enter Thursday's 12 p.m. home match vs. Nevada with a 2-5 record; Saint Mary's will continue its season at 2-2.
In addition to defeating Gabriela Tevez in singles play, Evloeva and teammate
Yana Gurevich shut out Jordan Harris and Liesl Pieters to earn the Aggies' lone doubles win.
