FULLERTON, Calif. – Leading 3-1 overall in Saturday's Big West dual at Titan Courts in Fullerton, California, Michelle Zell's tough three-set singles victory over Natalie Duffy clinched another road victory for UC Davis. Even though the overall result was official when Zell walked off her court, the two remaining singles contests continued play until results were recorded.

With its 4-3 victory versus the Titans, UC Davis will head to CSUN for Sunday's 1:30 league clash with a 4-6 overall and 1-2 conference record. Of UC Davis' four victories collected throughout the season, all took place on the road.

Cal State Fullerton falls to 7-4 and 1-1 with Saturday's loss.

After splitting the first two doubles matches, Yana Gurevich and Kristine Evloeva doubled up Natalie Duffy/Yuseung Suh, 6-3, to win the doubles round and the first team point of the day.

As the first singles match to finish, Gurevich completed an individual sweep with her 6-0, 6-4 result over Eira Tobrand. Once Olive Maunupau recorded a straight-set result of her own (6-4, 6-4) over Suh, the Aggies were one point away from winning their first league match of the season.

Once Zell pulled away in the third set, she placed the Aggies in position to sweep their Southern California road trip, with the right result, since she was responsible for the match-winning team point versus the Titans.
