SAN FRANCISO – By sweeping the doubles round, UC Davis enjoyed an early 1-0 overall lead, in Saturday's road dual at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Â
By defeating Mya Bui, 7-6 (5) in the third set of her match,
Yana Gurevich joined
Michelle Zell in recording three-set victories during singles play. Zell defeated Rita Colyer 5-7, 7-5 and 10-6.
Â
Unfortunately for the Aggies, the host Dons won the other four matches to record a 4-3 victory and improve to 6-2 this season.
Â
When UC Davis returns to competition on March 23 at Santa Clara, it will enter that road dual with a 2-6 record. That match against the Broncos will also serve as the team's final tune-up before the start of Big West play, which will commence on March 27 at Cal State Fullerton.
