SACRAMENTO, Calif. – UC Davis' doubles success set the tone in Sunday's non-conference match at Sacramento State Tennis Courts, a day filled with victories for the visiting team that started with Sara Tsukamoto and Lauren Ko breezing past Jayden Nielsen and Megan Tagaloa, 6-1. Following Shirley Hall and Michelle Zell's 6-2 victory versus Grace Dodd and Tsveti Yotova, UC Davis captured its first team point of the day, but far from its last, since similar results were recorded throughout singles play.

Tsukamoto, Yana Gurevich, Zell and Olive Maunupau all earned straight-set singles victories to help the Aggies officially earn another victory against Sacramento State.

For Maunupau, a true freshman, Sunday's result led to an individual singles sweep in her first weekend of Division I competition.

Once Hall and Evloeva won their respective third-set tiebreakers by scores of 10-8 and 10-4, the Aggies completed their sweep over the Hornets and ended their inaugural weekend of competition with a split of their two duals.

By winning its fourth straight head-to-head match against the Hornets, UC Davis will head to Pacific for Saturday's 12 p.m. match with a 1-1 overall record. Sacramento State will continue its season at 0-4.
