MORAGA, Calif. – Mitchell Davis earned his first singles victory as an Aggie when UC Davis visited Moraga, California, for Saturday's non-conference match at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Davis' 7-6, 7-5 straight-set victory over Sebastian Grijalva was one of two singles wins earned by the Ags during their visit to Saint Mary's as Arjith Jayaraman recorded the team's other point by defeating Karlo Divkovic 6-4, 2-6, 3-0.

Jayaraman and Davis' results were the highlights of a day that saw the host Gaels win the doubles point, and the other four singles matchups, to defeat UC Davis by a 5-2 score.

The Aggies will end their season-opening three-match road swing on Thursday at Santa Clara and enter that contest with an 0-2 overall record. The Gaels will continue their season at 1-4.

Following its match against the Broncos, UC Davis will host San Francisco two days later at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in the team's home opener.
