DAVIS, Calif. - The Aggies struck first against Stanford on Tuesday afternoon and didn't let up as UC Davis rode of one it's highest scoring games of the season to a 5-3 win over Stanford.
Playing a rescheduled contest after heavy rains forced it to be moved from it's original date on Sunday, Oct. 24, the Aggies' five goals matched their season-high against Bellarmine on Sept. 10 and the 13 total points by the Aggies was a season-high.
Tuesday marked the first time UC Davis (6-8, 1-5) has defeated Stanford since 2013 and just the second time in program history.

Grace Austin got the Aggies started, firing a midrange shot from the center of the cage that gave UC Davis a 1-0 lead just 1:39 into the second period. Though Stanford answered just over a minute later, senior Cat Potente's goal with an assist by senior
Audrey Matthew gave the Aggies a 2-1 less than five minutes before the half.

Shannon Wong extended the gap to 3-1 with an assist from freshman
Maddie Kellner at the 8:45 mark of the third period before the Cardinal began to chip away.
Lily Croddick made it 3-2 at the 11:20 point of the third and 3:38 into the fourth period, Haley Mossmer tapped in Molly Redgrove's long attempt from out past the top of the circle to tie the game.
The Aggies responded less than a minute later with senior
Shea Gavin scoring her fourth goal of the season with an assist from senior
Madison Theodore to go up 4-3. With 5:31 to go in the game Austin scored in her second goal of the day, laying out to tap in a long cross by Potente.
On a day in which the Aggies honored their eight graduating seniors, that group was responsible for three goals and three assists on the afternoon.
UC Davis will hit the road to finish out the 2021 regular season with America East Conference games at UAlbany on Oct. 29 and Monmouth on Oct. 31.
