NEWS & NOTABLES: It's "Senior Day" – take two – at the Aggie Field Hockey Facility as UC Davis welcomes Bay Area rival Stanford to town for a high noon non-conference battle between the America East Conference foes on Tuesday. With Mother Nature's cooperation, the Aggies and Cardinal will lock horns for a second time this season after their originally scheduled match on Sunday (Oct. 24) was postponed due to heavy rains. NEWS & NOTABLES: The second half of Big West Conference play begins at home this weekend as the UC Davis women's volleyball team takes on UC Riverside in a rare Tuesday conference contest before heading to the "Aloha State" to take on first-place Hawai'I in Honolulu. The Aggies are coming off a split of their conference contests for the second straight week, falling in four at Cal State Fullerton before bouncing back to sweep Long Beach State and hand Head Coach

Amara Aimufua continued her stellar freshman campaign, logging a career-high 20 kills against the Titans – the first Aggie to do so since Lauren Matias in 2019 – while collecting a match-high 11 more against The Beach for the 13th double-digit kill performance of the year. Sophomore
Shira Lahav added a career-high 27 digs against Fullerton while sophomore
Lana Radakovic came up with a career-high seven blocks against Long Beach State, helping the Aggies to a 13-3 margin in that category.

NEWS & NOTABLES: Much like their counterparts on the men's side, the Aggies will also celebrate "Senior Day" this week, hosting league newcomer UC San Diego on Thursday afternoon. With its loss last week, UC Davis was eliminated from Big West Conference Tournament contention, but looks to send its senior class of
Emma Hasco,
Janessa Staab, and
Nicki Rucki out on a high note against the Tritons. Already with nine wins overall this year, a victory or a draw on Thursday would clinch the program's first winning season – and its first with double-digit wins with a triumph – since the 2015 squad finished 10-7-2 overall. Thursday marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2003 as UC San Diego leads the all-time series 6-3-3, going unbeaten in the last eight (6-0-2).

NEWS & NOTABLES: The postseason begins this week for the UC Davis men's and women's cross country teams as the Aggies play host to the 2021 Big West Conference Championships at Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis, Calif. – an event UC Davis is hosting for the first time since joining the league in 2007-08. On the women's side, the Aggies have twice won the conference title, taking home team trophies in 2011 and 2014, while Sarah Sumpter took home individual honors in 2009. The women's team has also finished as runners-up in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2019. On the men's side, UC Davis won top team honors in 2010, led by individual champ Jon Peterson, and have a runner-up finish in 2008, while Thomas Madden won the men's individual title in 2017.

The Aggies are fresh off a doubleheader sweep of conference contests against No. 19 Air Force (14-8) and newcomer Biola (22-3) in their only two matches last week, extending their WWPA winning streak to 13 consecutive contests. WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING

NEWS & NOTABLES: The final dual of the fall serves as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opener for the UC Davis women's swimming and diving team, which heads to southern California to take on UC San Diego on Saturday (Oct. 30) at Noon. The Aggies are fresh off a split of their tri-meet in Reno last week, falling to Nevada, 167-88, and rolling over Cal State East Bay, 186.50-73.50.

NEWS & NOTABLES: It's rivalry week and "Senior Day" for the UC Davis men's soccer team this week as the Aggies welcome Causeway rival Sacramento State to the Aggie Soccer Field this weekend to close out the regular season at home. It's a crucial match-up for UC Davis, which is currently on the outside looking in for the six-team Big West Conference Tournament, sitting in seventh place with only this weekend's match remaining, but the Aggies control their own destiny. UC Davis needs a win in its finale against rival Sacramento State – or a tie and a UC Riverside loss – to qualify for the league's postseason event, sitting just one point back of both the Hornets and Highlanders (which faces UC San Diego in its finale) in fifth with 11 points. The Aggies have qualified for every Big West Tournament held since 2011 and 10 of the 12 tournaments dating back to 2008.
