BOISE, Idaho -- Redshirt junior Alyssa Ito tied the school balance beam record of 9.925 while junior Gabby Landess tied her all-around career high, propelling UC Davis to a season-high 195.850 in a women's gymnastics quadrangular meet at ExtraMile Arena Friday night.
Boise State and Utah State tied for the team title with a 196.800. UC Davis finished third, while fellow Mountain Pacific Sports Federation member Sacramento State was fourth at 192.700.
Ito's 9.925 puts her in a four-way tie with Alexis Brown, Katy Nogaki and current teammate Kelley Hebert. Her previous best was a 9.900 in last year's March 8 home triangular. She led an overall 49.200 team score in the meet's first rotation, a mark that ties the program's No. 3 score in history. Hebert made her return to action with a 9.875, Landess hit a 9.825 and freshman Rachel Schuelke added a 9.800 as the team's leadoff hitter.
UC Davis also recorded season-high team totals on floor (48.900) and vault (48.975) before finishing the meet with a 48.775 on uneven bars.
Landess and sophomore Cortney Cunningham each notched 9.850 scores on floor with Cammi Johnson turning in a 9.800. Johnson then followed with a team-best 9.850 on vault, with Ito (9.825), Landess (9.775) and Logan Clagg (9.775) also providing strong scores. Landess and Cunningham each paced the bars squad with matching 9.800 scores.
Landess' all-around score now gives her back-to-back 39.250s, as she compiled that same total six days earlier at Air Force, earning her MPSF Gymnast of the Week honors.
