UC Davis Athletics

2021: UC Davis opted out of the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic... The NCAA Division I Council adopted legislation to extend the eligibility of student-athletes that compete in winter sports; gymnastics student-athletes will received an additional season of eligibility and an extra year to complete it.

2020: ALL-MPSF FIRST TEAM on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise... Ranked T3rd in conference on vault (9.775), T5th on bars (9.780) T6th on floor (9.785)... Won one of team’s five OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AWARDS... Posted team’s highest overall average score of 9.723, hitting 26 of 27 overall... Named MPSF Specialist of the Week for Jan. 13, thanks to season-high 9.850 on vault plus 9.700 on bars and 9.725 on floor... Bars high of 9.875 came in road dual at San Jose State (Jan. 31) while floor best of 9.850 happened in Sac State/GW/UAA home quad (Jan. 24) then again in road quad at Boise State (Feb. 21).

2019: MPSF FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR... ALL-MPSF SECOND TEAM on vault... Ranked 10th in conference on vault with a 9.750 NQS... Competed in nine meets on vault, with all scores ranging from 9.700  and 9.800... Hit that season high at the Collegiate Challenge in Anaheim (Jan. 12)... Also posted 9.775s at home vs. New Hamsphire (Feb. 17) and Air Force/SPU (Mar. 8)... Appeared on bars five teams, topping out at 9.750 at MPSF Championships (Mar. 23).

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Graduated from Tennyson HS in 2018... Competed at Level 10 for Pacific West Gymnastics from 2013-18... Qualified for Junior Olympics Nationals in 2016... Won Region 1 vault title that year then went on to place 6th at JOs... Previously advanced to JO National Invitation Tournament in 2013... Five-time Region 1 qualifier at Level 10, placing 3rd, 4th, 6th, 1st and 3rd on vault from 2013 through 2018 (sat out 2017 season).

PERSONAL: Born in Redwood City, California... Majoring in sociology, with career aspirations in nursing or teaching – “I want to do something where I can help people”... Parents are Victor & Maicie Cunningham... One of five siblings, along with Catherine (26), Cinthia (25), Chacitty (22) and Victor (17)... Career highlight was scoring 9.85 on vault, which won the 2016 Region 1 championship.
