Monterey Park/Mission Viejo, Calif. - Thursday saw another slew of personal bests as UC Davis moved up to fifth in the team standings at the MPSF Championships in Southern California.
Thursday evening at East Los Angeles College began with the 200 Free Relay where the Aggies' 'A' team of Jamie Pincin, Mia Facey, Cora McClelland and Mia Cunnan set a new team-best time of 1:32.85 in fifth place.
Olivia Smith eclipsed her own team-best mark in the 500 Free to go 4:53.08 and finish sixth in the 'A' final. Kathryn Bockman swam a 4:58.55 to finish third in the 'B' final. Bockman swam a lifetime best 4:58.16 in the morning prelims.
In the 200 IM, Kyla Leacox swam a near-lifetime best of 2:00.67 in the 'A' final to finish fourth overall and Sophia Sebastian and Olivia Greenberg swam 2:08.12 and 2:08.65 respectively in the 'C' final. Greenberg swam a season-best 2:07.08 in the morning prelims to advance.
Ashleen O'Brien swam an exhibition time of 2:06.46 that was a season-best, Anna Lee a 2:09.85 and Taylor Scobey a season-best 2:12.65.
Pincin came back to swim a season-best 23.18 for fourth in the 50 Free 'A' final but that mark only lasted as a team-best time until Facey went 23.16 to finish second in the 'B' final. Cunnan's 23.90 in the 'C' final gave UC Davis three under 24 seconds in the 50 Free.
In the 50 Free prelims, Jay Jay Eaton turned in a season-best 24.20, Dani Fasan a 24.23, and Ashley Ma finished .03 seconds off her season-best with a 24.25. McClelland returned after the 200 Free Relay to exhibition swim a lifetime PR 23.99 in her final collegiate race in that event. Also swimming exhibitions in the 50 Free were Anna Lee, whose 24.09 was a season PR, and Leacox who also swam a season PR in 24.42.
About an hour away in Mission Viejo, Aggie divers also began competition at the Marguerite Aquatics Center with prelim, final and consolation final dives taking place Thursday on the 3-mtr board.
Taylor Hornberger represented the Aggies in the three-meter final, scoring 265.75 with a 15.70 total degree of difficulty for seventh place.
In the consolation final Londen Christensen scored 277.15 off a 14.70 total degree of difficulty for second, Reanna Agah 266.05 with a 15.10 DD for third, Katie Truong 260.65 with a 14.20 DD for fourth and Kendall Menard finished 6th with 243.80 off a 13.70 DD.
Christensen's mark was a season-high by nearly 10 points.
Out of a 21 person field, every Aggie diver qualified for one of the two finals.
On tap for Friday are prelims in the 100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Free, 100 Breast, and 100 Back with finals in those events to come in the evening session as well as the 400 Medley Relay final.
