PORTLAND, Ore. — Competing in a neutral-site match at the University of Portland, the Aggies were nearly perfect in their second shutout win of the season, defeating Puget Sound 7-0 on Saturday.
Playing the same doubles pairings from the previous two matches, Yana Gurevich and Jessica Walker were the first off, winning 6-0 at No. 3, followed by Shirley Hall/Kristina Breisacher at No. 2, who also didn't drop a game.
Playing the match out, Sara Tsukamoto and Lauren Ko won a tight match at the top of the doubles lineup, defeating Lisa Owen and Bridge Myers 6-4.
Continuing through the singles play, the Aggies swept on all six courts, with not a singles player dropping more than one game.
Ko picked up her second career double-bagel win, while Tsukamoto and Walker also won 6-0, 6-0. Hall, Gurevich, and Evloeva each lost just one game, officially closing out day two of the road trip through the Pacific Northwest.
UC Davis returns to the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center tomorrow to conclude the three-match weekend. The Aggies take on Portland at 10 AM, with live scoring available here, and a live stream here.
