DAVIS, Calif. — After sweeping last week's Southern California road trip, UC Davis will look to win its third game in a row when Cal State Fullerton visits The Pavilion.
In addition to a video stream on BigWest.TV, Sports 1140 KHTK will carry Scott Marsh's call. An internet audio broadcast is also available on TuneIn Radio through the station's channel. Audio, video, live stats, tickets and in-game Twitter links are all available at
Men's Basketball Gameday Central.
Wednesday's 7 p.m. home game provides a break for the Aggies from a road-heavy portion of their schedule. Last week, UC Davis visited Long Beach State and CSUN; it will head to Honolulu for Saturday's game at Hawai'i before returning to The Pavilion for a pair of home matchups the following week (one will take place on Feb. 1, the program's Alumni Day).
Wednesday's matchup will also feature a group of coaches with direct connections to UC Davis basketball. In addition to head coach
Jim Les, who is in his ninth year leading the program, Cal State Fullerton's coaching staff includes two Aggies in head coach Dedrique Taylor and Gus Argenal.
Taylor competed for UC Davis men's basketball from 1995-97, helped the Aggies compile a 43-16 overall record and earn two trips to the NCAA Regional Tournament's second round throughout his two seasons on campus. After graduating with a degree in sociology and organizational studies, he returned to his alma mater three years later to serve as an assistant coach from 2000-01.
Former Aggie point guard Gus Argenal (2000-04) will make his inaugural appearance as a Cal State Fullerton assistant coach this week. The current single-game record holder in assists (13) earned a degree in history following a senior season that saw UC Davis finish with an 18-9 record in its final season as a Division II program.
Argenal's first year as a student-athlete at UC Davis took place during the 2000-01 season when he competed for then-head coach Brian Fogel. On Fogel's staff as assistants that year were a couple of familiar names: current Aggie associate head coach
Kevin Nosek and Dedrique Taylor.
Series Record: UC Davis trails 22-17
Last Cal State Fullerton Win: 3/14/19 — N (Big West Tournament), 75-71 (OT)
Last UC Davis Win: 3/2/19 — H, 66-59
