CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — With wins over RV Brown and No. 18 Princeton, No. 11 UC Davis has won its fourth straight game, and improves to 10-8 so far this year.

Opening the Harvard Tournament against RV Brown, the Aggies were led by the freshman-senior combo of Annie Kutt and Noelle Wijnbelt, who each netted a hat trick to defeat the Bears 12-8. Junior Kathleen Schafle finished with two goals and a field block to aid goalkeeper Caitlin Golding's four saves and four steals.

Although Wijnbelt put the first point on the board for either team, the Bears responded with three back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 lead in the first period. The first half remained tight, finishing tied at 4-4. From there, the Aggies took control, putting up three back-to-back goals of their own, including Schafle's two, just 30 seconds apart. This lead proved too much for the Bears, who were unable to overcome the offensive pressure.

In the second game of the day, the Aggies relied on several different players, rallying behind Cassidy Smithson's two goals, as well as a pair from Wijnbelt, and scores from five other Aggies in a narrow 9-8 win.

No. 11 UC Davis jumped out to a 4-2 lead at the end of the first period in an attempt to set the pace for the rest of the game. Senior McKenna Hauss was in action in just her second day of the season, and netted her first goal of the year to extend the lead to 5-2.

However, Princeton sparked a comeback in the third period, scoring five goals throughout the half to remain within striking distance. Entering the final quarter with a 8-6 lead, Smithson scored at 5:22 for the final goal for the Aggies, while the Tigers unsuccessfully attempted an upset

The Aggies will return to Blodgett Pool Sunday for their final two tournament games at Harvard, taking on host team No. 15T Harvard at 9:15 AM EST/6:15 AM PST, and Iona at 1 PM EST/10 AM PST. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
