DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis women's tennis will continue Big West Conference play, hosting Cal Poly on Saturday before traveling to Santa Clara to play the rescheduled match from earlier in February.

The Aggies enter the weekend with a 2-5 overall, 1-2 Big West record, defeating CSUN 4-3 on the road on Monday. UC Davis looks to get revenge against the Mustangs, after the Aggies fell by a 4-3 decision at the Big West Conference tournament for the first loss in the series since 2011. Santa Clara has always been a challenge for UC Davis, but the Aggies have emerged victorious in the last two meetings, and are hoping to make it three.

Big West Conference Athlete of the Week Nikita Pradeep leads the team with a 5-1 singles dual record, while teaming with partner Shirley Hall for a team-best 3-3 doubles record this spring. Hall and Sara Tsukamoto each have four dual singles wins, while Hall has collected the most overall singles wins with nine, and is aiming to be the first Aggie to hit double digits.

The match against Cal Poly is slated to begin at 11 AM at the Marya Welch Tennis Center, before UC Davis travels to the Degheri Tennis Center for a noon start.

MANAGING THE MUSTANGS
Cal Poly (2-4, 0-0 BWC) is set to visit Marya Welch Tennis Center for their first conference match of the 2019 season. So far, the Mustangs have defeated UC San Diego (4-0) and Santa Clara (4-1), and lost to Sonoma State (4-3), all of which are on the Aggies' schedule. On Monday, Cal Poly lost to San Francisco by a 4-3 score, although the lineup for the Dons was slightly different than when the Aggies hosted the match in January. Leading the Mustangs will be Emily Louie-Meadors, a spring transfer from Navy, with a 3-1 dual record, playing primarily at No. 1. Susanne Boyden made her return to the singles lineup, and has won both matches she's played this season. In doubles play, Boyden and Grace Olyphant are the only team to have a perfect record, going 3-0 at No. 3. Kim Bhunu and Emily Ackerman also have three wins, playing at No. 2.

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA
The Broncos won their first match over a Division I opponent on Thursday, taking down Southeastern Louisiana to improve to 2-3 heading into Sunday's match with the Aggies. Senior two-time All-West Coast Conference selection Madison Clarke has yet to play a match this spring, leaving Maddie Pothoff to lead the Broncos with a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles. Elvena Gevargiz sits at No. 2, going 3-1 in dual matches, while the rest of the lineup had yet to win more than one match at each spot prior to Thursday's matchup. In doubles, Gevargiz and Pothoff have locked down the top spot, and are 5-0 this spring, and 7-0 overall  to lead all Santa Clara pairs.
