DAVIS, Calif. – Preparations for the 2019 season will kick-off on Wednesday when the defending Big Sky champions conduct their first off-season practice. Practices that take place throughout the week will lead up to a Friday scrimmage; the first week of workouts will take place at Aggie Stadium, with the remaining midweek practices slated for Howard Field.
By scheduling Spring Ball practices from mid-February through early March, football student-athletes have an opportunity to study abroad, participate in an internship or community service events throughout the spring quarter and early summer months — a unique opportunity rarely provided by football programs across the nation at the Division I, II and III levels.
Aggie Stadium will also host all three scrimmages and the program's March 8 Spring Game, which caps UC Davis' Spring Ball program. Admission is free for UC Davis' Spring Game, which will take place inside Aggie Stadium. Free parking is also available in Lot 56, located behind the facility's scoreboard.
Football's 2019 season will open on Aug. 31 at Cal, one of five games against teams that advanced to postseason play last year. The Aggies' trip to Berkeley is the first since the 2010 season; that head-to-head matchup was the first between these UC teams in 71 years.
The Aggies' inaugural home game of the '19 season will take place versus Lehigh on Sept. 14; secure the best possible seats for this game, and every other game taking place at Aggie Stadium this upcoming season by purchasing season tickets online, calling (530) 752-AGS1 (2471), or visiting the Athletics Ticket Office, located at the stadium between the hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
