FRESNO, Calif. — Senior psychology major Solie Laughlin led the Aggies with three individual wins on the afternoon (100 back, 200 back, 400 IM), while freshman Mia Motekaitis doubled in the 200 free and 500 free and freshman diver Taylor Hornberger finished second in the three-meter program with a season-best score of 268.88. The Aggies took home top honors in 10 of 16 events en route to a 158-142 win on the road against Fresno State on Saturday evening at the Fresno State Aquatic Center in Fresno, Calif. 

Laughlin tripled in her signature events, touching first overall in the 100 back (55.78), 200 back (1:59.55) and 400 IM (4:22.76), in addition to swimming the backstroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay team. 

The Aggies got off to a strong start on Saturday afternoon touching first overall in the first four events of the day, which included a career-best 10:18.84 in the 1000 free by junior Olivia Smith—the fastest time by an Aggie so far this season. 

After Motekaitis and Laughlin tallied their first wins of the day in the 200 free and 100 back, respectively, redshirt junior Mia Facey secured her fourth win of the season in the 50 free with a winning time of 23.80. 

Senior Iris Brand then led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Aggies in the 100 free with a season-best time of 51.55, followed by Facey in second (51.70) and freshman Amanda Wilson in third (53.21). 

The quartet of Facey, Brand, Motekaitis, and Mia Cunnan then closed out the afternoon for UC Davis with a first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:34.55). 

Hornberger led the Aggies on the boards, finishing fourth overall in the one-meter program with a score of 232.20 to go along with a second-place finish in the three-meter program with a career-best 268.88. Fellow freshman Londen Christensen also placed third on the low boards (232.35), while sophomore Amanda Chau posted a season-best 222.23 to finish fifth in the three-meter. 

The Aggies resume action next Friday (Jan. 25) when they host San Jose State at Schaal Aquatics Center beginning at 2 p.m.
