SAN JOSE, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team sealed the doubles point early on in the dual at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions; however, the Spartan powerhouse pushed through to seal a 5-2 victory over the Aggies after their performance in singles play at the Spartan Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

UC Davis is now 13-4 for the 2018 dual season.

In doubles play, Aggie tandem Lani-Rae Green and Kristina Breisacher garnered the first doubles win over Tamara Culibrk and Miyo Kobayashi, 6-2, at the No. 2 position, while partners Shirley Hall and Sara Tsukamoto officially clinched the doubles point after defeating San Jose State's Laura Malsert and Clara Mantaux, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot.

Green was the only Aggie to garner a singles match victory over the Spartans, scoring a three-set win over Kobayashi at the No. 3 position; however, the home team garnered the remaining singles match victories to clinch the dual at a 5-2 win over the visiting team.

The UC Davis women's tennis team returns to action with a two-match weekend. On Saturday (Apr. 14), the Aggies will welcome Sonoma State to the Marya Welch Tennis Center before making a trip down to Long Beach, Calif., for their rescheduled match against Big West Conference school Long Beach State on the following day (Apr. 15).
