2019 Football Schedule
DAVIS, Calif. – The defending Big Sky Conference champions will play five games at Aggie Stadium and face five postseason teams when UC Davis Athletics announced football's 2019 schedule on Friday.
In addition to unveiling the team's 12-game slate, Athletics officials also announced that
2019 season tickets are now available for purchase and
current season ticket holders will receive renewal information early next year.
The first home game of 2019 is set for Sept. 14, when Lehigh visits Davis for the first time since 1977, additional events will take place on Sept. 28 when the Aggies host Montana in their Big Sky opener and Oct. 12, during Homecoming Weekend, against Cal Poly in the Battle for the Golden Horseshoe.
After hosting Weber State on Oct. 26, a day that also features the 10th-annual Brewfest — an event that celebrates UC Davis as the No. 1 academic brewing program in North America — the Aggies will complete their home schedule on Nov. 16 versus Montana State.
Non-conference road games include the Aggies' first trip to Berkeley since 2010 when they face Cal (Aug. 31) in their season opener, the team's first visit to San Diego (Sept. 7) in nine years, and the first matchup involving UC Davis and North Dakota State since the 2007 season.
Big Sky road opponents on UC Davis' 2019 schedule include North Dakota (Oct. 5), Southern Utah (Oct. 19), Portland State (Nov. 9) and Sacramento State (Nov. 23).
Starting with their season opener against the Golden Bears, the Aggies will also face five teams that advanced to postseason play in 2018.
San Diego earned the Pioneer Football League's automatic berth to the 2018 playoffs as league champions; in addition to UC Davis, Weber State and Montana State represented the Big Sky in this year's playoffs; North Dakota State, national champions in six of the last seven seasons, is one of four teams competing for this year's national title (at the time of release).
Throughout the 100th season of UC Davis football, the program won its first Big Sky championship, earned its inaugural FCS playoff berth and won its first-ever FCS playoff game as a No. 6 seed. In addition to bringing the Golden Horseshoe and Causeway Classic trophies back home, national coach of the year
Dan Hawkins led UC Davis to 10 victories and seven wins against league teams, both new program records.
Ranked as high as a No. 4 in the nation in 2018 to establish another new all-time program record, UC Davis earned a spot in the FCS' top 25 poll in each of the final 11 weeks of the regular season.
