DAVIS, Calif. — Senior psychology major Solie Laughlin bested the field in the 400 IM and tied the Schaal Aquatics Center record with a time of 4:26.55 in one of three individual wins on the afternoon, while freshmen Amanda Wilson (100 fly, 200 fly) and Mia Motekaitis (200 free, 500 free) both secured a pair of event wins and freshman diver Taylor Hornberger set a new program record with her second career NCAA Zone Qualifying score in the 1-meter program to help UC Davis clinch a 172-110 win over visiting CSU East Bay on Friday evening at Schaal Aquatics Center in Davis, Calif. 

Laughlin posted event wins in her signature events touching first overall in the 100 back (57.83) and 400 IM (4:26.55) in addition to taking home top honors in the 200 breaststroke with a career-best time of 2:24.66. Laughlin also tied the Schaal Aquatics Center pool record in the 400 IM matching UC Santa Barbara's Brittany Straw, who touched with a time of 4:26.55 when the Aggies played host to the Gauchos last season on Jan. 19. 

The Aggies improve to an even 3-3 dual record on the season, while the Pioneers slipped to a 5-1 dual mark. UC Davis is slated to resume action in its final contest of the calendar year at the Miami University Invitational on Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Oxford, Ohio. 

After kicking off the afternoon with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 medley relay, the Aggies never looked back, posting back-to-back wins in the next six events that followed: Kathryn Bockman (1000 free), Motekaitis (200 free), Laughlin (100 back), Kristin Schumann (100 breaststroke), Wilson (200 fly), and Eva Chung (50 free). 

Redshirt junior Mia Facey also turned in the fastest 100 free time of the season for UC Davis at 52.30. Two events later, Motekaitis would notch her third individual win of the season in the 500 free with a time of 5:06.22. 

On the boards, Hornberger paced the Aggies in both the 1-meter and 3-meter programs, earning her second NCAA Zone Qualifying score and setting a new program record on the low boards with a 292.05 to go along with a 266.32 on the high boards—the highest score by an Aggie diver so far this season.  

The Aggies return to action in their final competition of the calendar year at the Miami University Invitational on Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Oxford, Ohio.
