UC Davis Season Ticket Holder Request Form
DAVIS, Calif. – With ninth-ranked UC Davis gearing up for a potential Football Championship Subdivision postseason appearance, UC Davis Athletics announced information pertaining to tickets, dates, parking and other items pertaining to this season's playoffs.
When will we know this year's postseason field?
Twenty-four teams will comprise this year's field, selections that ESPNU will announce on Sunday, Nov. 18, on its
live selection show slated for 9:30 a.m. PT.
How are teams selected?
The NCAA Division I Football Championship provides for a field of 24 teams to compete in a single elimination tournament. Of the 24 teams, 10 conference champions will receive automatic qualifications with the remaining best 14 teams being selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Football Championship Committee.
The top eight teams in the 24-team bracket for the championship are seeded and receive First Round byes. Team pairings are determined according to geographical proximity.
Teams from the same conference will not be paired for First Round games or for Second Round games when both teams are playing their first games of the championship (except for teams from the same conference that did not play against each other during the regular season; such teams may play each other in the first and second round).
When will postseason games take place?
The first weekend of playoff games, involving 16 teams will take place on Nov. 24. The winners of those matchups will advance and face one of the top eight seeds — teams that earned a first round bye — on Dec. 1.
Quarterfinal games will take place on either Dec. 7 or 8; the final four teams will square off the following week on Dec. 14 or 15.
The final two teams will battle for a national title in Frisco, Texas, on Jan. 5.
With the exception of the Division I National Championship, all games will take place at campus sites.
