Fernandez paces Aggies on day two at UCLA

LOS ANGELES - UC Davis junior Jessica Fernandez paced the Aggies in the 3-meter preliminaries during the second day of competition at the Bruin Invitational hosted by UCLA at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angeles.

Fernandez finished 27th in the prelims with 231.60 points, her second highest performance in the event this season and the fifth highest score posted by an Aggie this season.

Senior Angelina Proshak finished 33rd in the prelims with a score of 221.25 points, followed by Katie Truong in 41st (200.60), Inessa Toropov in 44th (196.50), Amanda Chau in 49th (188.15), and Alisha Miller in 51st (154.25).

UCLA's Eloise Belanger, who finished second in the prelims, was the individual champion with a total of 650.25 points on the day, scoring 327.20 points in the championship final. Belanger also took home top honors Friday as the 1-meter individual champion.

Competition continues Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with the women's platform prelims.
