DAVIS, Calif. - For the second season in a row, UC Davis will face Weber State in its Big Sky Conference opener. Kickoff from Stewart Stadium is set for 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT.

In addition to being each team's first league game, and the highlight of the Wildcats' Homecoming Weekend, Saturday's matchup is the first of three straight against teams that competed in last year's NCAA FCS postseason. Once the Aggies return to Davis Saturday night, back-to-back home games will take place at North Dakota and Eastern Washington on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 respectively.

•Saturday's game will feature the Big Sky's top scoring defenses; Weber State is allowing a league-low 19.0 points per game, while UC Davis' 19.7 ppg is the second-lowest average

SCOUTING WEBER STATE
• As is the case with UC Davis, Weber State is 2-1 on the season after topping Sacramento State on the road last weekend by a 31-24 score
• This is Weber State's Homecoming Weekend
• Earlier this year, the Wildcats defeated Montana Western at home in their season opener, 76-0
• After falling at Cal the following week (33-20), WSU rebounded by beating the Aggies' cross-Causeway rival
• Weber State will enter its homecoming game with two national rankings: No. 18 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 23 in the STATS FCS poll
• UC Davis was WSU's homecoming opponent during the 2010 season, a game that doubled as the first head-to-head victory for WSU

UC DAVIS' IRONMAN
• When the Aggies take the field against San Diego this weekend, Fred Arp will witness, in person, his 447th UC Davis consecutive football game
• Arp was an assistant coach with the Aggies for more than 40 years before retiring at the end of the 2007 season
• His accomplishments as defensive line coach, and his reverence from the players he mentored, led to his enshrinement in the Cal Aggie Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010

TWO BLOCKED PUNTS LEADS TO PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR FOR PARENTEAU
•Entering the Aggies' game at Portland State, junior DB Ryan Parenteau had zero blocked punts to his credit
•That quickly changed because he blocked two kicks that afternoon, plays that resulted in 14 Aggie points
•Combined with his team-high eight tackles and six solo stops, the Anthem, Ariz. native earned Big Sky weekly honors for the first time in his career when league officials selected him as its Special Teams Player of the Week
•After blocking his first punt of the day, Darryl Graham scooped up the ball and sprinted nine yards into the end zone
•Parenteau's second blocked kick paid off six plays later when the Aggies extended their lead to a 23-7 margin with another TD, scored just before the end of the fourth quarter
•Parenteau is the first UC Davis player to block two punts during the program's Big Sky era

IT'S BEEN A WHILE
•Parenteau's block in the first quarter, which led to Graham's touchdown on the same play, is the first special teams TD of this type since Oct. 11, 2008, when Brock Butler blocked a kick against Southern Utah that was recovered, and led to six points scored by Danny Hart
•The Aggies last blocked a punt on Sept. 29, 2012, when Ryan Dimino got his hands on a kick vs. Weber State

OPPOSING TEAMS BETTER KEEP AN EYE ON HIM
• Entering next week's game at Weber State, Junior defensive back Vincent White leads all Big Sky players with five breakups - a single-game career-high four took place in Portland - and all Aggies with 18 total tackles, 14 solo tackles and 5 PBUs
•The Lynwood native, who is majoring in psychology, turned in a career-best performance last when UC Davis snapped its five-game slide vs. Portland State (9/16) with a 37-14 win
• Midway through the fourth quarter, White forced his first fumble as an Aggie, which led to another Aggie touchdown
• Of White's six tackles recorded against the Vikings, a single-game career high five were solo stops
• White's 14 unassisted tackles recorded throughout the Aggies' first three games, match a single-season career high

WHY WAIT?
•In his second game as an Aggie, Jake Maier threw for 369 yards against (RV/RV) San Diego, the third-highest total recorded in the program's Big Sky era, and the
second-highest vs. Division I opponents
•Maier did not wait long to record another 300-plus yard effort since he threw for 316 the very next week at (RV/RV) Portland State
•With that performance at Portland State, Maier became the first Aggie quarterback to throw for 300 or more yards, in consecutive games, against Division I teams
